The Light Has Come
"The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone." – Isaiah 9:2
Christmas Eve carries a unique feeling of anticipation. It’s the night before everything changes—the celebration of Jesus, the Savior, coming into the world. But to truly grasp the wonder of Christmas, you have to pause and reflect on the darkness that existed before the light came.
Isaiah 9:2 paints the picture of a world trapped in deep darkness. That’s what life was like before Jesus—a world broken by sin, weighed down by hopelessness, and longing for a Savior. That’s the same darkness we face when we try to navigate life without Him.
But then, the light came. The birth of Jesus wasn’t just another story or historical event, it was the moment God stepped into our darkness. He didn’t wait for the world to fix itself or become worthy. He came to us as we were, shining His light into the places where hope seemed lost.
What’s even more incredible is that Jesus didn’t just come to shine light on the world, He came to shine light in your heart. That baby born in a manger wasn’t just a gift to humanity, He was a personal gift to you. He came to bring hope to your struggles, peace to your chaos, and joy to your weary soul.
Christmas Eve is a reminder that the light of Christ isn’t distant. It’s close, personal, and transformative. Whatever darkness you might feel tonight—whether it’s anxiety, grief, or a sense of emptiness—remember that the same God who lit up the night sky over Bethlehem is ready to light up your heart.
As you sit in anticipation, let the weight of what Jesus has done settle over you. The light has come, and it’s for you. So, celebrate His arrival, not just as a moment in history but as the promise that He will never leave you in darkness. The Savior has come, and because of Him, you can walk in His light forever.

Thank you. I’m so used to slipping away I think that I get fear creeping in sometimes. Thank you for reminding me again of the best thing ever. He will never leave me again.
