Lessons from Esther

“For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” – Esther 4:14

Esther did not start her story in a palace. She was an orphan, raised by her cousin, living in a foreign land with very little influence. But when God positioned her as queen, it was not for comfort or status. It was for a purpose. At the time, she may not have known all the reasons she was there, but when the moment came, she had to decide if she would stay silent or step into what God had placed her there to do.

The same is true for you. You may not have all the answers. You might not feel qualified. But you are where you are for a reason. You may not see it fully yet, but God does not waste any part of your story. You may be positioned right now in your job, your school, your family, or your neighborhood because there is a purpose tied to it.

There will always be a temptation to stay quiet and play it safe. That is what fear says. But God did not bring you this far for you to shrink back. Like Esther, there comes a moment when you have to stop waiting for someone else to act and recognize that maybe, just maybe, God put you here for such a time as this.

You are not randomly placed. Your life is not the result of chance. God strategically places people where they need to be, and He gives them what they need to carry out their purpose. Do not miss it. There is more in you than you may realize.

You may not feel like a leader, but God is not asking you to feel it. He is asking you to trust Him with it. Step forward. Speak truth. Choose obedience. You never know what kind of freedom your courage might bring to others. Just like Esther, your obedience may unlock the breakthrough that an entire generation has been waiting for.

Thank you Pastor Ed. You said something awhile back that I didn’t think even applied to me then. You said something to the effect that some of you are walking in defeat when you have been empowered by the Holy Spirit. That we need to walk in what God has given us. I found myself recently doing just that. Sometimes it takes being put into situations I don’t like for a bit to force me back into where I need to be too. To remember who I am. A child of the Most High God. Blessed and highly favored.
