Held Accountable

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.” (2 Corinthians 5:10)

As we continue through this series of Revelation, you might be asking yourself, why do I need to know what will happen in these times? One thing you should consider, is what it all means for you and I. You might ask, why are we talking about all of this bad news? And why do we talk about the judgment and wrath of God?

The reason we’re talking about all of this is because we don’t want to be the false church. There are a lot of false churches in the world today that preach a tolerance toward sin. But the reality is, when you get to heaven, you will be held accountable. You won’t be standing with your buddies that you “had a good time with.” You will be face to face with your Maker, just you and Him.

And I want you to be prepared for that, long before the time ever comes. 2 Corinthians 5:10 tells us, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.” This verse says we ALL must appear, this means we cannot escape it. You have a date with God in the judgment seat and it will surely come.

You and I will be held accountable for the things we have done, both good and bad. This is not something that should shock us when that day comes. It is written in the Bible now. We can know now what is ahead. When you were in school, why did you study before tests? So you could be prepared for what was coming. I want you to be prepared for what is coming.

One day we will be held accountable. We will reap what we sow. But this does not have to be bad news. It can be good news if we make good decisions and walk in the way of the Lord!
