What Are You Still Trying to Prove?

"Am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ." - Galatians 1:10

Have you ever stopped to ask yourself, what am I still trying to prove? Are you walking through life wearing a mask, driven by the need to prove your worth to someone? Maybe your family, your friends, your boss, or even yourself? If you’re honest, you might find that so much of what you do is about trying to convince others, or even yourself, that you’re enough.

But here’s the problem: living to prove something keeps you running on a never-ending treadmill. You strive harder, push further, and take on more, yet the approval you’re chasing always feels just out of reach. Even when you achieve something, it doesn’t satisfy you for long. Why? Because proving yourself is not the purpose God created you for.

God didn’t design you to live for the applause of others or the validation of the world. He created you for a unique purpose, one that isn’t tied to your performance or what others think of you. When you spend your life trying to prove yourself, you risk losing sight of the incredible path He has planned for you.

Take a moment to really think about the path you’re on. What’s driving it? Is it the need to prove your success, your intelligence, your abilities, or your value? Or are you walking in the purpose God has for your life? The difference lies in your motivation. One path is about striving for approval, the other is about living in the freedom of God’s approval, which you already have.

You don’t need to prove yourself to anyone. God has already declared that you are enough. You are His child, chosen, loved, and equipped for the work He’s called you to. His opinion is the only one that matters, and He’s not asking you to prove anything. He’s asking you to trust Him and step into His purpose for your life.

Ask yourself today, what am I still trying to prove, and why? If your motivation is rooted in approval or validation, it’s time to let that go. Walk in the freedom of knowing that God’s purpose for your life is far greater than anything you could prove to the world. Live for Him, not for applause. His path leads to peace, purpose, and joy that striving can never give.
