Your Weakness Doesn’t Disqualify You

"But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me." - 2 Corinthians 12:9

Stop believing the lie that your flaws, struggles, or weaknesses disqualify you from being used by God. That idea couldn’t be further from the truth. God isn’t waiting for you to clean yourself up, fix everything, or become perfect before He can work in your life. His power is most evident not in your strength but in your weakness.

Paul understood this when he wrote these words in 2 Corinthians. He didn’t say, “I’ll wait until I’m strong to serve God.” Instead, he embraced his weakness because he knew it created the perfect opportunity for God’s strength to shine. Your flaws aren’t obstacles, they’re opportunities for God to show His glory in ways you can’t even imagine.

You might think, how could God use me when I struggle with this or that? Maybe you feel like your past disqualifies you, or your insecurities make you unworthy. But God’s grace is sufficient. His strength is made perfect in the very areas where you feel weak.

Coming to God isn’t about getting everything right first. It’s about surrendering your life, broken pieces and all, and letting Him work through you. The flaws you think disqualify you are the very things He can use to show His power, His love, and His grace.

Don’t let the fear of not being enough hold you back. God already knows your weaknesses, and He still chooses you. His power working in you is more than enough to overcome anything you face. He’s not asking for perfection, He’s asking for surrender.

So let go of the idea that you need to have it all together before you come to Him. Trust that His grace is enough for you, and step into the freedom of knowing that your weakness doesn’t disqualify you. It’s the place where His power can do its greatest work.
