Keep A Scroll
“Look, I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll” (Revelation 22:7)
In our final week of Revelation, we see Jesus give us another command with urgency attached to it. He says in Revelation 22:7, “Look, I am coming soon!“ We do not have time to delay. If you have read through this series and stayed with us day after day, I first want to say thank you, and I trust that God has spoken to you along the way. But I also want to say, all of this that we’ve talked about could come at any moment.
We must stay ready. But you might be asking, how can I stay ready? Well fortunately for us, the rest of the verse answers that question. Scripture continues by saying, “Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll.” What can you do with these devotions or of your own study of Revelation?
Take notes! Write down the questions, comments, concerns you might have. You can wrestle with them before God. Remember, He is in the trenches with you and will help you as you go through them. Writing these things down can help you remember things that have moved you. Look, we are grateful when you read through this content and feel moved, but it is what you do after you are moved that really makes a difference for God’s Kingdom!
So many believers hear a great message or read something on the internet and they feel as if it really spoke to them. But it is just a matter of time before they forget the power of the words inside, and they go on living their daily lives. God gives us instruction on how we can avoid that mistake by keeping a scroll, or taking notes.
As you read through these devotions, the book of Revelation, or anything else God teaches you, keep a scroll and continue to go back to it. You never know what material that has changed you God might use to change the world THROUGH you!
