The Lion of All Lions

“At the first light of dawn, the king got up and hurried to the lions’ den. When he came near the den, he called to Daniel in an anguished voice, ‘Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually been able to rescue you from the lions?’ Daniel answered, ‘May the king live forever! My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight.” - Daniel 6:19-22

When you are faithful to God as Daniel was in Daniel 6, God shows up in your defense. Many believers often find themselves in a situation and they wonder where God is. But when you are obedient to Him, following His perfect will for your life, when you need Him, He will show up.

As we mentioned yesterday, God is always on time. But not only is He always on time, He always comes out on top. He is the Lion of all lions. Daniel reveals this in verse 22 in response to Darius asking him if God had rescued him, ‘May the king live forever! My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight.”

What or who are the lions in your life? These lions were a threat to Daniel, but they were never going to hurt him. God sent His angel to shut the mouths of the lions. And He will do the same for you. No matter what comes against you, it will not stand. Jeremiah 1:19 tells us, “They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you, declares the Lord.”

He is always on time, and He always comes out on top. He is the Lion of all lions. When you accept Christ into your heart, you have chosen to come out victorious. God will never be overcome. This does not excuse you from the challenges and difficulties of life. But it does mean they will not defeat you. When you have God on your side, you have the Lion of all lions, and victory is yours through Him!
