His Purpose or Your Problem?

“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.” - Romans 5:3

We have spent the last couple of days discussing the difficulties life throws at us. And we KNOW life will throw tough times at us. The Bible assures us of this. John 16:33 says, “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

Trials and sorrows are inevitable. You cannot avoid them. The question is, how will you respond when faced with them? It is in that response that determines both the growth you gain and the time frame of your circumstances.

See, God is less concerned about your comfort or how long you find yourself in these seasons, and He is more concerned with what you gain from them. What is your focus when trials come? Are you focused on His purpose or your problem?

Where your focus is determines what you will gain. When we focus on our problem, we are less susceptible to what He is trying to teach us. Yes, trials are uncomfortable. They will stretch us, but that is exactly what we need to grow in our faith and in our relationship with our Heavenly Father.

If you want to become the person God has intended for you to be and live the life you are destined for, it will take growth. Where you are right now is not where God ultimately intends for you to be. You might be on that path, but He never wants you to stop growing.

That is why He allows trials, tribulations, and challenges to come your way. So that you continue to grow. When these things come into your life, it is crucial that your focus is in the right place. Determine His purpose and let go of the concern for your problem. In finding His purpose, you will not only solve your problems but gain wisdom, peace, and so much more along the way!
