An Anomaly
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” - Romans 12:2
When you follow the will of God, He will take you to amazing places. Not just physical places, but to accomplish things you never dreamed you were capable of. That is what God does. Even if you start out anxious or worried that you are not cut out for what He is leading you into, it does not matter.
God always makes a way. He has an infinite number of resources that He can and will use to accomplish His will. All He asks is that you obey Him one step at a time. And when you do this, you will start to see how different you are. Not that this is the goal. Remember, God wants you to bring attention to His name, not your own.
But in being obedient to Him, stepping outside of our comfort zone and into new things, we will undoubtedly draw attention. Because that is different from the rest of the world. The majority of the people in this world spend all their time fighting to stay inside of their comfort zone; yet God, in many cases, will draw you outside of it.
When you follow God every step of the way, you are not just different. You become an anomaly. You become someone that deviates from the standard, the normal, the expected. But you know what? That is okay! God doesn’t call us to fit in. If we want to be like Jesus, we will stand out.
Romans 12:2 says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
God never intended for you to just go with the flow. When you become a believer in Jesus, you are destined to stand out. You were destined to be different in the places that you go. Where God is leading you, you might be an anomaly! And in doing so, people are going to wonder, “What is different about that guy? About that girl? What do they have that I don’t?
That is what God made you for! Don’t fear standing out. Instead, embrace the anomaly you were created to be!
