Your Brand or God’s Brand?
“For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” - Luke 14:11
Which are you promoting: your brand or God’s brand? We live in a day and age where everyone and everything has a “brand.” Social media has made it easy for any person to gain a following, an influence, and a market.
Now, faster than ever, you can gain a following and monetize that following by doing whatever you want to do! It is the self-promotion era unlike any in human history. And that is not to blame anyone. That is just the way the system is set up now. But that does not change where our priorities should be.
Don’t hear me wrong. Social media is not a bad thing. It can be an incredible resource that allows us to reach far more people worldwide than ever used to be possible. It is all in how you use it. The message, the truths, the experiences God has placed on your heart or in your life…social media is a great place to share all of those things.
But remember who should be getting both the attention and the credit. Social media isn’t the problem. Self-promotion is. As a believer, we are called to be different. God does not call us to be like the world, promoting ourselves. In fact, the Bible says those who exalt themselves will be humbled.
Luke 14:11 says, “For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” That means EVERYONE. Believers, nonbelievers, it does not matter. If you promote yourself and exalt yourself, you will be humbled. But when you exalt God’s name, that is when you will be blessed.
Are you exalting His name or your name? Are you promoting God’s brand or your brand? Think about that as you build “your brand” or your following. Having influence is a great thing! But where do you point your influence to? That is the question worth spending some time on today.

I'm a regular viewer of TikTok unfortunately and got an influencer who is gorgeous but he doesn't make about himself. I think his popularity is how uplifting and motivating he is, ok it doesn't hurt that he is drop dead gorgeous. The good in TikTok I guess depends if you are for the inspirational and positive creators then it's a good thing.
