Open To First Timers
“Jesus told him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.’” - John 14:6
Unlike restaurants, grocery stores, shopping centers, and movie theaters, Jesus' door never closes. That’s right, no matter what time of day, what day of the week, what month of the year, it does not matter. The door to the Heavenly Father is always open.
You say, “Pastor, that is great! But who is it open for? I’m sure you have to be a certain kind of person...” Well, actually that’s not the case at all. God’s door is open to anyone and everyone willing to accept Him. So then, who is everyone?
First, it’s first-timers. God’s door is open to those who do not know Him and do not have a personal relationship with Him. Before you can enjoy all the perks of living the Christian life and following Jesus, you must first accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior.
The good news is that is exactly who God is open for! It does not matter what your background is. It does not matter what choices (good or bad) you have made in life up to this point. Jesus wants you to turn to Him NOW.
He says in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”
Jesus is not “a way” to Heaven He is “THE WAY.” To walk through the door, you first must accept that Jesus died on the cross for your sins. He died so that you could come through that door!
When you are ready to accept that Jesus lived a perfect life and died a sinless death so that you could walk through Heaven’s door, then you really can do just that...you can walk through the door! But only through Jesus. He is The Way!
