Open To STRAYngers
“Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.” - 2 Chronicles 7:14
Over the last couple of days, we have discussed how God’s door is always open. It does not matter the time, day, week, or month. His door is open, and He is ready for you to walk in. But who is He ready for?
Yesterday, we talked about how He is ready for first-timers…non-believers who have never accepted Him as their personal Lord and Savior. And while He is waiting on them, He is also waiting on STRAYngers.
That’s right, not strangers (because there are no strangers to God) but STRAYngers, those who have strayed away from Him. When you first accept Christ as your Savior, your life will change. The Lord gives us the Holy Spirit inside of us, which will change our whole being. We will be on fire for God and have a strong desire to pursue His will for our lives.
But for many believers, as time passes, they begin to stray from God. They start to pursue the things of this world. And as they do, they begin to lose touch with God. They stop praying, stop reading their Bible, and stop attending church. They think they have life “under control.”
It is often when life hits them in an unexpected way that they want to turn back to God. Sadly, many believe they are no longer welcome. They think they have made too many mistakes for God to let them back in the door.
My friend, I am here to tell you today that that belief couldn’t be further from the truth. You serve a God of endless mercy and endless grace. His door is not only open for you, but He is standing there waiting for you to come in! It does not matter how far you have strayed. The Lord is waiting for you RIGHT NOW! His door is still open!
