Not Your Thoughts
“’My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,’ says the Lord. ‘And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.’” - Isaiah 55:8-9
When you are obedient to God and walk with Him, you will live in victory. He assures us of this in His Word. But what we must understand is that walking with Him is not always easy, and that is because He often does things differently than we think they should be done.
Sometimes, God will reveal His plan to you before it happens. He might tell you exactly what He wants you to do and what is coming in your life. So you get all excited thinking about the future and what it will be like when you get to that point. But there is just one thing…you don’t know what the in-between holds.
And what happens a lot of times is that the “in-between” looks a lot different than what had thought or hoped it would. What we envisioned was something entirely different than how things actually played out, and now we’re left questioning God about the whole thing.
When these times come, and God’s plans do not match up with our wishes, we must remember that His plans are greater than ours. No matter what you envision, God’s plan for you not only trumps your plan, but you will be glad that you followed His if you will remain obedient to Him.
He tells us in Isaiah 55:8-9. “’My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,’ says the Lord. ‘And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.’”
Sometimes, we don’t understand God’s ways. And that is OKAY. Just know, when things work a little differently than you had expected, His ways are greater than your ways, and you will be glad you trusted Him.
