Submit to Him
“’My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,’ says the Lord. ‘And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.’” - Isaiah 55:8-9
Have you ever been disappointed with the direction God leads you? Maybe God set you on this journey to pursue His will, and it started out GREAT. You were excited and motivated, ready to do whatever He wanted you to do. That is until it came time to do something that you didn’t think you needed to do.
Maybe what God was leading you to was outside of your comfort zone. Maybe He was going to challenge your faith in a way you weren’t expecting. One thing you can count on is that as you follow God, He will test your faith and put you in situations that allow you to grow.
He is not interested in you staying comfortable where you are at. He has greater plans for you and wants to lead you to places you would have never dreamed of for yourself. But to take you there, He has to prepare you first. And that process isn’t always fun.
God will do things we do not always agree with. But we must remember His ways are best. Isaiah 55:8-9 reminds us of this. It says, “’My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,’ says the Lord. ‘And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.’”
If you want God to lead you to the best version of both you and your life, then you must submit to Him. Even when you don’t understand His ways, submit to Him. Even when you are confused, submit to Him. Even when it doesn’t all make sense, submit to Him.
When you submit to Him, you are saying, “God, I don’t understand it, but you do. And your ways are greater than my ways. I will trust you and I will follow you.” And He will bless your obedience. Even when you don’t understand, it is always in your best interest to submit to God.
