Wiped Away
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” - 1 John 1:9
Have you ever had a friend or maybe even a family member who, once you messed up, never let you live it down? You might have made a mistake and even apologized. But they just continue to bring it up and remind you of your shortcomings.
It is like no matter what you do, you just can’t get out from under what you did. And every time you see that person, it is a constant reminder of the mistake(s) you have made.
Well, I want you to know, when you are a child of God, you do not have to worry about this! Did you know that when you give your life to Christ, all your mistakes are wiped away? You are as clean as a whistle in the eyes of Christ.
Many people make the mistake of believing that God is some harsh judge sitting on the throne of heaven just waiting to nail you with a punishment. But He is not like that. He loves you and wants the best for you.
When He allows you to deal with consequences, it is only for your own good. So that you do not continue down the path of destruction. But understand this, God does not keep reminding you of your mistakes.
1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Once you have confessed your sins and asked for forgiveness, God will forgive you. But He doesn’t stop there. John then goes on to tell us that He will cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
All the bad things others have attached to you and made synonymous with your name, Jesus wipes away. As a child of God, you no longer belong to sin. You belong to Him! Praise God today that He wipes our sins away!
