God Directs You

“I know, O Lord, that the way of man is not in himself, that it is not in man who walks to direct his steps.” - Jeremiah 10:23

Over the last three days, we have talked about a God who chases you, a God who loves you, and a God who pursues you (continually). But He doesn’t stop there. Once God has gotten your attention, that is when the fun really starts.

Most of the time, when we are running from God, it is because of the bad things we have done. But once God chases us, pursues us, and convinces us of His immense love for us, then we begin to realize He really is for us.

But He isn’t just “for us.” He is not a fan that just roots for us or a cheerleader that is cheering us on while we figure it out by ourselves. Instead, once God has your attention, He begins to direct your life.

See, God has a special plan and purpose for every person on this planet. That plan is called His will or the will of God. As a believer, your job is to follow the will of God, because when you do, your life will turn out for the best.

What you have to realize is that you could never design, scheme, or create a better life for yourself than the one God has designed for you. His will is perfect. So, if you follow His will, you are choosing to live the best possible version of your life.

Jeremiah 10:23 says, “I know, O Lord, that the way of man is not in himself, that it is not in man who walks to direct his steps.”

As humans, we were never meant to direct our own steps. That is when we make a mess of our lives. That is why God had to chase after you. But you don’t have to continue to make a mess. Let God direct your life and watch how much greater things turn out for you!
