God Guides You
“Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, so that you may also rejoice and be glad when His glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.” - 1 Peter 4:12-14
Have you ever felt like somehow, some way, you are exactly where you are supposed to be? Like you have been led to the exact place you are, even though you weren’t trying to get there?
Sometimes we hear stories about highly successful people who made it to the top, and they just knew they would get there. They had a plan from the beginning, they followed that plan, and they are exactly where they expected to be.
Other times, we hear about people who are just as (if not more) successful, who never imagined they would be where they are. They didn’t create some special plan. They didn’t follow a certain path. They didn’t mark their track. And yet, somehow, here they are.
For some, God directed you from the start to exactly where you are now. But for others, He guides you to where you need to be. You might be saying, “Pastor what is the difference?” When God directs us, He is clearly showing us the way.
But what about when we aren’t as set on following His will? See, the thing is, God knows exactly what it will take to get you where He needs you. And so, sometimes He arranges the circumstances in your life in order for you to get to where He wants you to be.
1 Peter 4:12-14 says, “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, so that you may also rejoice and be glad when His glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.”
Sometimes you know where you are going. And sometimes, God guides you there. If it’s God’s will, He will make it happen. Aren’t you thankful that even when you don’t realize it, God is guiding you to exactly where you need to be?
