A Personal Gift
“To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as He wills.” - 1 Corinthians 12:7-9, 11
Did you know God not only gives us spiritual gifts, but He personalizes them? That’s right, your spiritual gifts are unique. There is no one else in the world who was created like you, came from the same environment and background as you, and has your spiritual gift. All of these things make you unique.
We talked several days ago about being YOU…how God didn’t create you to be the 2.0 version of someone else. He wants you to be the original you. That is because no one else can fulfill or be what you were meant to be. No one else comes from the same circumstances, with the same upbringing, and has the same spiritual gifts as you.
All of these things are personalized to you. And that is true when it comes to the spiritual gift(s) you have been given. 1 Corinthians 12:11 says, “All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as He wills.”
Before you ever took a breath, God had a predestined plan and purpose for your life. The spiritual gift He has given you is a tool He wants you to use to accomplish His greater purpose. That is why your gift is personalized.
Only you can use it to do what only God created you to do. Does that sound like a big job? That’s because it is. No one else can replace you! God has plans just for you. He doesn’t just generically create us with random traits. Your gift is PERSONAL.
Now it’s time to use that personal gift for the purpose you were created for!
