Don’t Waste Your Gift
“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” - 1 Peter 4:10
No matter who you are, God has blessed you with spiritual gifts. He has given us these gifts for a specific reason. As we have looked at the last few days, God gives us spiritual gifts that are PERSONAL, PURPOSEFUL, and PRACTICAL.
He wants us to use these gifts for His glory. These gifts are ours to steward and to use to bring others to know Him. But what if we don’t use them? Think about who could miss out on knowing God because you decided you weren’t going to use the personal, purposeful, and practical gifts God blessed you with.
Once you know what your gift is, and God gives you clarity on how to use it, you must take the next step of actually using the gift. Let’s say you had a long beard and asked for a beard trimmer for your birthday. Once you receive the trimmer, you go and watch a bunch of YouTube videos on how to trim and style your beard. You’re all informed and ready to go...but then you don’t ever use the trimmer.
What good is it? Yes, you have it. Yes, you know what you need to do with it. But without actually using the trimmer to cut and style your beard, nothing changes. Your beard looks the same as it did before you bought the trimmer.
The same is true for the spiritual gifts God gives us. 1 Peter 4:10 says, “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”
God has given you gifts, and your job is to steward those gifts. How can you use the gifts God has given you to impact the lives of those around you?
There are people all around you who are in need of the exact gifts God has blessed you with. Are you ready to share your gift? Take that next step and allow God to use you to bless others.
