Everyone Has a Role
“Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues.” - 1 Corinthians 12:27-28
Have you ever become stressed doing the work of the Lord? Maybe God has really given you clarity about your purpose and gifts. He told you exactly what you need to do. And so, you hear Him, and you respond.
But along the way, you become stressed. You even think to yourself, “Why am I so stressed out? I am doing what God has called me to do. If God has called me to do this, shouldn’t He help make sure I do not get stressed?”
But we know that just because God calls us to do something doesn’t mean there won’t be challenges. The real question is, has God allowed the challenge or have you created it?
One of the biggest challenges for many believers is once they have gained clarity, they try to accomplish everything on their own. They feel as if God hasn’t shown anyone else His plan and if they don’t do it, it won’t be done correctly.
Have you ever felt this way? What you must remember is, you are one person. You have your role, but you have to learn to let others play theirs.
1 Corinthians 12:27-28 says, “Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues.”
You weren’t meant to do everything. God didn’t give you extra hours in your day. You were never meant to play every role. Let others play their role. God has given each of us different gifts and different purposes.
The real magic happens when we come together to use our own personal gifts for His greater purpose. Remember your role, and then partner with others who can play a different role. When you do this, watch how God works through the team rather than just you, individually.
