Having All the Answers

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” - Proverbs 3:5

Have you ever had a big idea about something you wanted to do, and you just got so excited to share it with the people who would be involved in this big idea? You had thought about it for some time now, and you were sure this is what you wanted to do.

So you went to the people, whether it was your friends, family, or business partners, and you pitched the idea. You were so passionate about it, and they could see the enthusiasm on your face. But they didn’t share the same excitement. Instead, they had some concerns.

So, they start grilling you with questions. “What if this happens?” or “Are you prepared if...” As they bring things to your attention that you haven’t thought about, they decide they aren’t in your idea. They just can’t get on board when you don’t have all the answers.

Thankfully, we don’t have to have all the answers to follow God. He doesn’t say, “Once you understand, follow me.” Instead, Proverbs 3:5 tells us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”

To obey God, you are going to have to display faith. And faith is trusting God even when you don’t see what He is doing. That is the beauty of it. Anyone can believe in something they can see. But do you believe even when you don’t see it?

Are struggling to obey or buy into what God is telling you because you don’t have all the answers? If you are waiting for that point, you are going to be waiting a long time because most of the time, that’s just not how God works.

He gives you the answers when you need them. And you don’t always need them upfront. That is what faith is for! Trust God, even when you don’t have all the answers, and don’t let that be the reason you aren’t obedient to Him.
