Transforming Your Mind

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” - Romans 12:2

If we want to grow our faith and live in a way that honors God, it starts with transforming our minds. The reason most people don’t have the type of faith that can move mountains is because they don’t trust God to that degree.

People are skeptical. They think as the world thinks. But that is not what God has called us to do. God wants us to renew our minds in order to better follow Him. Romans 12:2 says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

When you transform your mind, you begin to think as God thinks. You begin to see what God sees. And you begin to act like Jesus acted. That, my friend, is God’s ultimate purpose for you. He wants you to be like Jesus so that you can bring honor and glory to His name.

There are many different ways to do that. Whether it is by location or vocation, God can use many different people in many different ways. But it’s all with the same purpose: be like Jesus and bring Him glory and honor.

The way we do that is by transforming our minds. If we want to be like Jesus, we need to think like Jesus. And Jesus didn’t think the way the world thinks. Jesus didn’t chase after what God had forbidden. Jesus didn’t seek to fit in with those around Him. And Jesus wasn’t about bringing attention to Himself, only to His Father.

Do you want to honor God? Do you want to be obedient to His calling? It starts with transforming your mind.
