Discerning God’s Will
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” - Romans 12:2
When you transform and renew your mind and accept the tests that come your way, you will be able to discern the will of God.
Today’s key verse says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
We have spent the last few days breaking down this verse. If we want to grow in our faith, we need to transform, and therefore, renew our minds. When we renew our minds through testing, we can discern the will of God.
This is when it gets good. Once you are thinking like Jesus would think, and you can discern God’s will for your life, your mission is in place. When this happens, God will give you clarity about His will and what He wants you to do.
Once you know His will, you can act on it with a renewed mind in which you think the way Jesus thinks and act in the way Jesus acts. This doesn’t mean you are going to be perfect. No one but Jesus ever was, is, or will be.
You will still make mistakes from time to time. But you won’t veer off the path because you know exactly what God wants you to do and how you should do it.
Do you want to know God’s will for your life? It starts by transforming your mind. Your old way of thinking can’t lead you to where you want to go. Before God can show you His will, you must renew your mind. Once you do, you will be able to discern God’s perfect will for your life!
