Changing Your Perspective

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” - Romans 12:2

When you give your life to God and begin to serve others, something incredible happens. See, what we think is that when we serve others, we are going to impact and change their lives. And this can be true; God definitely uses us to bless others.

But what also happens is that God changes YOU. Through your service to others, God shifts things in your heart and in your mind and transforms you into the person He has created you to be. Now, you might be wondering: How does He specifically do that?

First, He changes your perspective. Romans 12:2 says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

When you decide not to conform to this world and pursue your own pleasures, but instead give your life to Christ and serve Him and others, your mind is renewed. And this is when God changes your perspective.

He teaches you how to see things the way He sees them. He teaches you how to love Him first and love others more than yourself. He teaches you to see that the world is so much bigger than your own personal struggles. He teaches you that the best work you can do is His work. And that you will never regret giving your time to serve those around you.

Serving others is not about you, but it can change you. When you serve others, God changes your perspective. Who knows, maybe that thing you have been waiting on God for is actually God waiting on you.

But until your perspective changes, you won’t see it. When you give God your life, He changes you. And it starts with changing your perspective!
