Consider Before You Act

"The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it." - Proverbs 22:3

Are you considering making a decision that you know deep down is not in alignment with God’s will? It’s easy to convince ourselves that the choice before us isn’t really that big of a deal—that the consequences won’t be that severe. But before you take that step, consider the weight of the decision you’re about to make.

Often, we know when we’re teetering on the edge of making a bad decision. There’s a nagging feeling in the pit of our stomachs, a small voice whispering warnings in our ears. Yet, in our desire for instant gratification or relief from our circumstances, we ignore those warnings and plunge ahead.

But here’s the thing: some decisions, even seemingly small ones, can have life-altering consequences. A fleeting moment of pleasure can lead to years of regret. A hasty choice made in anger or frustration can irreparably damage relationships. And a major decision made without seeking God’s guidance can set us on a path that veers far from His plan for our lives.

Think about the ramifications of the decision you’re considering. Is it something that could rock your world, shatter your relationships, or upend your future? If God has not called you to it, are you prepared to face the consequences?

Whether it’s contemplating an affair, walking out on your family, or making a drastic move to escape your current circumstances, take a moment to pause and reflect. Consider the potential fallout of your actions. Are you willing to bear the weight of those consequences?

Remember, God’s way is always the best way, even when it’s not the easiest or most comfortable path. He sees the bigger picture and knows what is best for you. Trust in His wisdom, seek His guidance, and wait patiently for His timing.

Before you make that decision, take a step back and consider the danger that lies ahead. Choose the path of prudence and wisdom, and you’ll spare yourself from unnecessary suffering. Let God lead you, and you’ll find peace, joy, and fulfillment in His perfect will.
