Helping Others Run Their Race

"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near." - Hebrews 10:24-25

God has given each of us a unique purpose to pursue, a race to run, and He’s with us every step of the way. But our journey isn’t just about reaching the finish line for ourselves. As believers, part of following God’s purpose for our lives is being willing to help others on their journey too. We’re not meant to run this race alone. God designed us to do life together, encouraging and uplifting one another as we move forward.

Supporting others in their walk with God is more than just cheering them on from the sidelines. Sometimes, He calls us to actively take part in leading them to their next step.

You might be the one to open a door, offer guidance, or share wisdom that helps someone else discover God’s plan for their life. It’s a powerful and humbling thing to be used by God in someone else’s journey, and it’s something we should always be mindful of as we run our own race.

It’s easy to get so focused on our own path that we miss opportunities to help others along the way. But God often places people in our lives who need more than just support, they need someone who’s willing to walk with them, to speak into their lives, and to be a vessel for what God wants to do next in their story. Don’t be so focused on reaching your destination that you miss the chance to help someone else take the next step in theirs.

Part of the beauty of fellowship is that we get to do life together, and that means more than just supporting each other. It means being willing to let God use us to push each other forward, to help others take the next step in their journey, and to lead them closer to Him. So, keep running your race, but stay open to how God might want to use you in the lives of others along the way. Your willingness to be a part of their journey could make all the difference.

I don’t think I know what my purpose in life is. How do I find it? I don’t know what I’m supposed to be doing to serve God.
