What Else Matters?

“Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the nations. Who will not fear you, Lord, and bring glory to your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.” (Revelation 15:3-4)

Yesterday, we talked about a deeper love — that when you consider what will take place after the rapture and during the tribulation, a series of just terrible events, who would want anyone to live through that? And not only in the end times, but who wants someone to go through the craziness of life even now without God as their north star?

As we consider this and all that will happen in the end days, where we will be, and who we will be with, it begs the question, what else matters? I mean seriously, what else truly matters? You might be stressed right now about a test you have to take. Maybe you are on the verge of getting your license, or getting certified for a job, maybe taking the SAT? Or maybe you are worried you won’t land a high paying client at your next job? Or perhaps you do not have enough social media followers, so what are people going to think of you?

I do not want to make light of any of these things, because if it is important to you, it is important to your Heavenly Father. But when you think about what this all leads to, and where you are going after this life, besides your relationship with Him, what else matters? I’ll wait.

Catch what I said there, “besides your relationship with Him.” So if that is what matters, how much time are we investing in that relationship? How much time are we spending in prayer? How much time are we reading His Word growing to know Him better and know what He wants for our lives?

How often are we acknowledging what Revelation 15:3-4 says, “Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the nations. Who will not fear you, Lord, and bring glory to your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you...” If you answered, “nothing else truly matters,” then I hope you are motivated to spend more time in what does truly matter!
