What Only He Can Do
“And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. He seized the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.” (Revelation 20:1-2)
Have you ever asked God to remove Satan from your life? Maybe you have asked Him to remove the temptations Satan has placed in your way. Either way, every believer who knows what is good and right knows when they are being tempted and when Satan is trying to disrupt God’s plan. Unfortunately, we do not have the power to stop him. Through God’s strength, we can resist the temptation, but we cannot remove Satan from our lives.
Revelation 20:1-2, tells us that God will bottle up Satan, chaining him down and keeping him bound up for a thousand years. This is a description of power. This is something only God can do, bind Satan for one thousand years. It is clear God is doing something no one else can do. And while this is a great description of that, it should not take reading your Bible all the way to the third to the last chapter in the entire Bible to know what God is capable of.
God is all powerful, and He is capable of doing so much more in and through you than what you thought possible. You and God might have the same plan for your life. The career path you have chosen is what is in His will. But make no mistake about it. Apart from Him, you cannot achieve all that He intended. We want to be in the will of God, but we also need the power of God.
If you are going to do the things you wish to do (and then some), you are going to need God to do what only He can do. God often allows us to try to do things on our own, so that when we fail, we realize how much we need Him. Save yourself the time, give it to God and allow Him to do what only He can do.
