We Need Community
“Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near.” - Hebrews 10:24-25
As followers of Christ, we all need community. This can be in the form of a small group at church, or it could be like-minded people from the office. There isn’t a set type of group you must have. There is no rulebook for when or how you should meet. But the reality is, none of us should be walking through our spiritual lives alone.
God calls for us to come together to serve Him. Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near.”
The Christian life is not always easy. God never promised that it would be. Being a believer does not numb us to the trials and difficulties of life. We are still human, and we will face difficult times. And that is why we need others to come alongside us, to encourage and help us through these difficult times.
As we know, God does not call us to live like the rest of the world. We are called to be different. And this can make us feel at times like we are isolated or all alone. But that is just not the case. When you find a community or a group of people who are like you and are growing in their relationship with God, you have a group of people who can walk beside you during life’s toughest times.
Do you have a community around you? If not, what is holding you back? God desires for you to have a community of like-minded believers to go through life with you. Ask God to reveal to you who He wants to walk beside you in this life and to show you how you can start to build your community, today!
