Our Advocate
“My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” - 1 John 2:1
Did you know that when you give your life to Christ, you permanently have someone in your corner advocating for you? There are a lot of people who feel alone in this world. They just wish someone would care about them…that someone would be interested in what is going on and pay attention to what is happening in their lives.
Well unfortunately, if you aren’t a believer, what I’m about to say doesn’t apply to you... but if you are a believer, you do have someone! You have someone who is highly invested in your life. Someone who is orchestrating things in your life, working in the circumstances and situations of your life, and who is there to not only listen to you but to ADVOCATE ON YOUR BEHALF.
That is right, even though you are a sinner, even though you do not deserve heaven, and even though you do not deserve to have a relationship with the Father, you can, because you have someone who died specifically FOR YOU. And not only did they die for you, but they advocated on your behalf so that you can now have a personal relationship with God the Father, the Creator of the Universe.
If that isn’t cool, I just don’t know what is! Jesus has advocated for you. What that means is that He publicly SUPPORTS and RECOMMENDS you to the Father. He has chosen you to have a relationship with God. A relationship that comes with blessings, mercies, and grace. All of the amazing things God does in the lives of His children, He will do for you.
Isn’t it great to have someone who has advocated on your behalf? If you are not a believer, now is the time to give your life to Jesus Christ and let Him personally go to the Father and advocate on your behalf!
