No Longer Forsaken
“Turn away from evil and do good; so shall you dwell forever. For the Lord loves justice; He will not forsake His saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off. The righteous shall inherit the land and dwell upon it forever.” - Psalm 37:27-29
When you give your life to Jesus and place your faith and trust in Him, He promises you something. What is that promise? That He’s got you. You know, the same way the average guy can’t get into a party without the help of his famous, influential friend...
The friend who says, “I got you,” that friend for you is Jesus. And He’s got you for far more than a party! He’s got you for life. But what does that mean? What does it look like for Jesus to say, “I got you”?
As we have looked at the last couple of days, it means we are no longer slaves to sin. It means we are no longer crippled by confusion. And as we will look at today, it means we are no longer forsaken.
We are no longer forsaken but instead have the faithfulness of God. Psalm 37:27-29 says, “Turn away from evil and do good; so shall you dwell forever. For the Lord loves justice; He will not forsake His saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off. The righteous shall inherit the land and dwell upon it forever.”
As a child of God, He promises to never leave you nor forsake you. This means He’s not only “got you” now, but He’s got you FOREVER. No matter what you will go through or who will try to stand against you, He will not stand for it.
The God you serve is bigger than anything you will face. And when you face life’s toughest and most difficult challenges, He will not leave you or forsake you. Remember, God’s got you!
