“But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.’” - 1 Samuel 16:7
Over the last couple of days, we have talked about opportunity. Despite some people’s beliefs, your opportunity is still there. Your window isn’t closed, and your time is not done. If you are still breathing, that is all the evidence I need to know that God has an amazing plan for your life.
You might be saying, “Pastor, there are no opportunities for me. What I have done in the past cannot be overlooked. I don’t get another opportunity; they’ve written me off.” I have good news for you, my friend: even if other people have written you off, God never will.
God hasn’t written you off. And your opportunity through Him is just beginning. 1 Samuel 16:7 says, “But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.’”
See, God doesn’t see what everyone else sees. When others look at your mistakes, God looks at your abilities. When everyone else looks at your past, God looks to your future. When everyone else looks at your weakness, God looks at the strengths you have through Him.
God doesn’t see you the way the world does. And God doesn’t need others to condone the opportunities He will place in front of you. It might be different from the opportunity you thought you were going to get. But make no mistake, your opportunity isn’t lost because God hasn’t written you off.
Your story isn’t over. God is going to do something great. He has an opportunity waiting JUST FOR YOU. Don’t look at what man sees. Look at what God sees because God sees the good in you, and He’s got a future better than you can imagine waiting for you!
