Beyond Our Imagination
"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." - Isaiah 43:19
God is the God of the miraculous, the One who can do something we have never seen Him do before in our lives. Isaiah 43:19 declares, "See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."
Our faith often operates within the boundaries of what we have seen or experienced. We pray for healing, provision, or guidance based on what we know God has done in the past. While this is a legitimate form of faith, we must remember that God is not limited by our experiences or expectations.
Scripture is filled with accounts of God doing extraordinary things that had never been witnessed before. From parting the Red Sea to feeding thousands with a few loaves and fish, His power and creativity know no bounds.
God's ability to do something new in our lives is not restricted by our circumstances. In fact, it often shines brightest in our wilderness moments and wasteland seasons. When all seems hopeless and barren, God reveals His glory by making a way where there is no way.
Just think about the story of Abraham and Sarah, who in their old age, received the promise of a child. This was something they had never seen God do before, but He fulfilled His promise in a miraculous way. God specializes in the impossible.
What are the areas in your life where you may have limited God's work based on your past experiences or what seems possible? Are there dreams, desires, or prayers that you've hesitated to bring before God because they seem beyond reach? Take those concerns to Him in prayer, trusting that He can do something new and remarkable.
His ways are higher, His thoughts are greater, and His ability to surprise us with His goodness is boundless. Be open to His new work in your life, for He is the God who can exceed your expectations and do something beyond what you've ever seen before.
