Don’t Waste Your Wait

"But those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." - Isaiah 40:31

Waiting is never easy. When we find ourselves in a season of waiting on God, it’s natural to focus on the end of the waiting period and how much longer it will last. We may become preoccupied with the timing and the uncertainty of when God will act. But what’s important to remember is the waiting period itself holds great significance. It’s not just a pause in our lives; it’s a time of transformation and growth if we choose to embrace it.

Think about the Israelites wandering in the desert for forty years. Their waiting period was long and challenging, but it was also a time for God to prepare them for the Promised Land. This wasn’t just a delay; it was a crucial part of their journey. They had the opportunity to learn trust, obedience, and dependence on God. If they had focused solely on the length of their wait and how miserable it was, they might have missed the lessons God wanted to teach them.

Similarly, in our own lives, the waiting period is not merely a waiting room for God’s intervention. It’s an opportunity for deep personal and spiritual growth. Instead of fixating on the timeline or worrying about what God is doing behind the scenes, we should focus on what He wants to accomplish in us during this time. What lessons is He trying to teach you? What character traits is He developing in you?

Waiting periods are not wasted time. They are a chance to deepen your relationship with God, to seek His will more earnestly, and to prepare yourself for what’s to come. Use this time to grow in your faith, develop patience, and draw closer to God. He is using this period to shape you, and the more you align your focus with His purposes, the more you will see your own transformation.

In your waiting, let God renew your strength and transform your heart. Your waiting period can be the very place where God does His most incredible work in you. Don’t waste it. Embrace it, learn from it, and let it prepare you for the future He has planned.
