God, Is This You?

“I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, ‘Come!’ I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.”
- Revelation 6:1-2, 4
As we continue with this series in Revelation, we come to chapter 6 where the anti-christ comes down on a white horse. He is appearing as Jesus, and you know what? For three and a half years people will believe he is Jesus, before it is revealed that he is a fraud. The chapter begins by describing not Jesus, but the anti-Christ.

Revelation 6 says, “and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on a conquest.” He appears as Jesus, but is not. This is not a trick that will appear for the first time. After all, the enemy attempts to trick us all the time.

Maybe you recently got a new job offer, and though parts of it don’t seem like the right idea, it pays better. Or maybe your marriage is going south, but there is someone you met that seems just perfect and like they were sent from God just for you. It is not always easy to decipher when opportunities come our way. I heard the phrase yesterday, “A man is only as loyal as his options.”

Often times, it is just assumed that if something better comes along, we are supposed to take it, and who could blame us? But the question you must ask yourself... Is this new thing from God? Did He send it? God, is this You?

Satan is not dumb. He won’t always make it easy for you to decipher what’s true and what isn’t. In fact, often times he packages up his offer and bundles it up in a way that it appears so good! Why wouldn’t we take that job? Or why wouldn’t I just move on and date the new girl? But not everything is from God, even if it appears good or even if it seems like it will fix our problems in the here and now. So, the next time you are struggling to make a decision, go to Him first. And ask, God is this You?
