Fake And Real
“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” (2 Corinthians 4:4)
Yesterday we talked about Satan the counterfeit. When the tribulation period comes around, Satan and the anti-Christ are going to counterfeit Jesus in many ways. They are going to try to appear like the real deal, even though they are nothing more than a fraud. A fake. But again, the devil, the anti-Christ and the demons we see disguising themselves as Jesus and his angels is not a tactic that will be new in the times of the tribulation.
Satan is in the disguising business now. Who he pretends to be is not real. But what is real is the number of consequences that come from us believing his fake shenanigans. What Satan promises to deliver is fake. What he promises you will get from it is fake. What he says you will be after you do it is fake.
But what is not fake is what happens when you do listen to him. The outcomes are very real. The pain is real. The hurt is real. The disappointment is real. Following Satan is both fake and real. The good that is promised is fake, especially in the long run. But the pain and results are very, very real. Sounds like a bad deal, right?
That is because it is! Following Satan is a bad deal! We let the disguise and the packaging of what he tries to deliver entice us into doing what he says. We drink a little more because he says all the pain will go away. But that is fake. The next day, the pain is still there. And the decision you made after that drink, and the consequences that come with that decision, are very real.
But following Jesus is not fake in the slightest. What He says is real, and what He delivers is real. What the Bible says is true, and it will not fail. You will not be disappointed with God. Do not fall into lies that deliver fake results but real consequences. Instead follow a God who has always been, and always will be, very real.
