Lord or Liar?
“After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven. He had a great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor.” (Revelation 18:1)
Did you know in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) it is illegal for someone to convert from Islam to Christianity? As a matter of fact, the great imam that signed the document of unification would believe that if you fall away from Islam and become a Christian, you should die. It is called apostasy.
The major religions in the end times really will not tolerate each other. And yet there will be one world church. How does this work? Well, they will strip every disagreement away and just share everything we have in common. It sounds really warm and fuzzy. It feels really good. They will only want to talk about the things they agree about.
But the reality is simple, You either believe Jesus is Lord or He is a liar. He cannot be both. John 14:6 says, “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” Either He was lying or He’s Lord. When the Bible says that every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, it is either a lie, or it is the truth.
When you speak of your belief in Jesus, there are some things that just cannot be tolerated or compromised. Others will consider you arrogant, narrow minded, and bigoted. But you cannot back down from that. You cannot be afraid of that accusation and the reason is, because the most loving thing you could say is the truth. And Jesus is the truth.
You might catch flack for this. You might even get a reputation. But never alter your position or perspective. Either Jesus is Lord or He is a liar. And if He is Lord, then we cannot compromise the truth. Stand on that truth, and let others see the way it leads your life.
