How To Start New
“Then I saw ‘a new heaven and a new earth,’ for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven, from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
(Revelation 21:1-2)
Yesterday we talked about how God is the ultimate Creator. After the tribulation, God will recreate the earth into a new heaven. Revelation 21:2 tells us this “new Jerusalem” will be “prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.” That is the beautiful Creator He is. But He is not withholding those creation abilities. He will do it in the end times, but He will also do it in the here and now for you.
No matter what has happened in your life, no matter where you have messed up, or how broken you might be, God can give you a new start. He can create a whole new life for you. But how do you start new? It starts with admitting you need Him and that you need something new. God will help you start fresh, but He will not force it upon you.
No matter how miserable you might be, until you come to a place where you want change to happen and ask Him for help. He will not barge in. Revelation 3:20 says, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”
God is willing to step in, but you must first open the door for Him. It can be hard to admit we need help, but God wants to help you. He never intended for you to figure out life on your own. If you are a believer, you made the decision to give your life to Christ. That means not just giving your life for eternity, but for the here and now, too.
Have you made a mess of your life? Has someone walked in and out and shattered your world? Whatever has happened, God is ready to help you start new. He is the answer. He will help you, but will you open the door for Him?

I always tell Jesus I need him. I need Him right now. Amen!
