Not By Accident
“We may throw the dice, but the Lord determines how they fall.” - Proverbs 16:33
If you are reading this right now, it is no accident. The circumstances in your life right now are not an accident. What you are currently going through, what you have gone through, and what you will one day go through are no accident. If God’s hand is in it, it is not an accident, coincidence, or happenstance.
Proverbs 16:33 tells us this exactly when it says, “We may throw the dice, but the Lord determines how they fall.” See with the Lord, everything is either done or allowed by His power. Nothing slips through the cracks that He did not give approval to.
Perhaps you are saying, “But pastor, I have suffered a terrible loss, and it was an ‘accident’ that caused the pain and heartache I now feel.” My friend, it might have been an “accident” by the person involved, but it was no accident. When God is in control, everything is purposeful. This does not mean we will always like what He allows (or sends our way), but we can rejoice in knowing that He remains in control.
As a believer, you can have faith knowing God is still in control of your circumstances. He has not and will not lose control of anything that happens in your life. God has an amazing plan in mind for you. The life He wants you to live is something greater than you could ever possibly imagine.
Now, this does not mean that every single part of it, every waking moment, is joyous. There will still be trials and tribulations. There will still be difficulties, pain, and loss. There will be failures and setbacks. But there will also be amazing milestones, incredible growth, and heavenly rewards if you remain obedient to Him.
Nothing in your life, not now, not ever, happens by accident. When you are living in the Lord’s will, everything happens for a reason. He is leading you to your eternal destiny. So follow Him and rejoice in knowing that He is always in control!
