Not Numb
“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” - John 16:33
Are you in the midst of trials, difficulties, or heartache? Has life thrown you a curveball that is just too much to handle? If so, I have good news for you. Yesterday, we were reminded that victory is on the horizon, that though God doesn’t always work on our timeline, He is working, and His promises are sure.
God promises us that when we are obedient and we are in His will, we can know that victory is ours in Christ Jesus. We will go through difficult times; perhaps you find yourself there right now? As believers, we are not numb to trials, difficulties, or heartache.
When you choose to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, your life changes for the better. That does not mean that you grow numb to pain or are immune to difficult circumstances. Life will still hit you, and it will hit you hard. That is the brutally honest truth.
But what you can know is that you have victory in Christ. John 16:33 reminds us, “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
See, He doesn’t just say we might have trials, He says “you WILL have MANY trials.” This is no different than anyone else. The difference is in how you come out of those trials. When you are on team Jesus, you are on the winning team!
No, you might not be numb to the pain, but you will stand in victory on the other side. That is a promise God always keeps. Stand strong and know that no matter what life throws your way, no matter what it looks like right now, victory is yours in Christ Jesus!
