Finding the Light

“I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in Me will no longer remain in the dark.” - John 12:46 
 
Have you found the light? Not the light switch, but the Light of Christ? Jesus is the light. He says so in John 12:8, “Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, ‘I am the light of the world. If you follow Me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.’”
 
Jesus is the light we need in our lives. We live in a dark world. A world that promises much but gives very little. It cannot keep all the promises it gives. That is why we are constantly looking for more. But God never intended for us to continue searching for more. He is the “more” you are looking for.  

If you want to be fully satisfied and live out your ultimate purpose, it starts with leaving behind this dark world and finding the Light. So, how do you find it? Well, for starters, it's not an “it.” You are not looking for a “what” but a “Who.”
 
That “Who” is Jesus Christ – a man who was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, and came to earth specifically to die for YOUR SINS. He who knew no sin took upon your sins, died on a cross where He was beaten, embarrassed, and nailed upon. But He did it because without Him, to put it bluntly, you have no future.

Your life beyond this one would be one burning in the lake of fire. But because He came to earth and died for you, you have the opportunity to spend eternity with the Father in Heaven. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal, right?
 
So, what must you do? All you have to do is acknowledge what we said above, that you are a sinner unworthy of Him. You don’t deserve heaven because of all that you have done. But you know Jesus died on the cross for your sins. He lived a perfect life and yet still went to the cross for you to be your Savior. You need Him. And you need Him not only in heaven but in this life on earth.

When you pray this personally to God, He hears you. And He answers your request. He will give you the Holy Spirit to guide you. And you will have a personal relationship with Him for all of eternity! This is how you find The Light of the World!
