Jesus Knocks Too

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.” - Revelation 3:20

Over the last few days, we have looked at how God’s door is always open for us. It does not matter if we are a nonbeliever, a believer who has strayed from God, or a believer battling with sin. God’s door is always open.

But what about when we don’t come in? Maybe you have read these devotions the last few days, and though it sounds good, you just can’t seem to believe it. You think, “Pastor, you don’t know my situation. You don’t know what I’ve done…you don’t know my past. There is no way God’s door is open for me.”

Well, I am here to tell you now that your situation is not outside the realm of God. You cannot “out sin” the grace and mercy of the Lord. His grace and mercy will always be greater than your worst sins. But there is more good news. Even if you feel too ashamed to come through His door, Jesus will come to yours.

Revelation 3:20 says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.”

Even when you can’t seem to muster up the strength to walk through God’s door, Jesus will knock on yours. No matter what you have done, He wants a personal relationship with you. God is not some harsh ruler sitting on a throne waiting to punish you. He is a loving Father who wants to know His children.

And He will do that by any means necessary. Including knocking on your door. Listen, my friend, wherever you are, whatever you have done, it is not too much for Jesus to handle. Life is better with Him by your side. If He is knocking, let Him in. He might just change everything for you.
