A BIG God
“But the Lord is the only true God. He is the living God and the everlasting King! The whole earth trembles at His anger. The nations cannot stand up to His wrath.” - Jeremiah 10:10
Yesterday, we talked about your enemies. Let’s face it, whenever we decide to do something important, we will have “enemies.” These enemies can come in mild forms like people who oppose new ideas we have. Or this can come in stronger forms of people with full-blown plans to stop or destroy whatever it is we are doing.
The good news is it doesn’t matter. Yesterday, the response I gave to your enemies was, “So...?” As in “So....? Who cares?” The reason I say this is not because I don’t care about you, but because I realize that we so often get caught up in things that don’t matter, things that will not succeed. And when you are obedient to God, the schemes of those who oppose you will not succeed.
But how do we know they will not succeed? Because of His POWER and His PROMISE. The God we serve is bigger than the problems we face. And those problems include the enemies that try to form against us.
Isaiah 54:17 reminds us of this when it says, “But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken!”
But how can we be sure? Because God is bigger. Jeremiah 10:10 tells us, “But the Lord is the only true God. He is the living God and the everlasting King! The whole earth trembles at His anger. The nations cannot stand up to His wrath.”
Think about that. The whole earth trembles at His anger. The nations, meaning entire countries, cannot stand up to His wrath. That doesn’t sound like someone I would want to stand against. And yet, when you are obediently following God, that is exactly what your enemies are doing. Do not worry about them; worry FOR them!
You serve a BIG God, and He is taking care of you. No one can oppose you as long as you are faithful to Him.
