Fear of Being Alone

“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” - Isaiah 41:10

When God makes His purpose clear in your life, what keeps you from saying “YES God, I’m ready and I will go now.” What is it that holds you back? Over the last three days, we have looked at the fears that keep us from instant obedience to God when He has called us to bigger and better things.

We looked at the fear of failure, the fear of judgment, and the fear of the unknown. But there is a fourth fear I want to look at today. And that is the fear of being alone. Sometimes, following God can feel lonely. Others might not understand why you are doing what you are doing. They will judge you, and they will question you.

That journey can feel pretty lonely, but only before you start. Because once you start, what you will realize is that you are never alone. The One who has called you to this life is the One that will be by your side every step of the way.

In fact, Isaiah 41:10 promises us exactly that; “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”

I want to tell you my friend, you will never regret obeying God’s calling for your life. If you have followed along with us this past week, it is not an accident. God has a plan and purpose for your life. And it’s not one that is way out there in the future. He is ready for you to take that step NOW.

But if you are going to take it, you have to leave the fear behind. As you step out in faith, God will take care of your fears. Remember, you are never alone!
