He’s Got You
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” - Jeremiah 29:11
I was watching a TV show one time in which one of the characters, just a normal guy, was trying to get into this club. The club was throwing a party for his very famous best friend, and he was most definitely on the list.
As he approached the bouncer, he told the man his name and waited as the bouncer checked the list. After checking the list, the bouncer let the guy know his name wasn’t on the list. So the guy started freaking out. He told the bouncer, “My best friend is the guy you are throwing this party for. I know I am on the list!”
Shortly after, the best friend rolls up. As he gets out of the limo, his friend quickly approaches him and very passionately shares his displeasure with his name being left off the list. So, his highly influential best friend looks at him and says, “Hang on a second, I got you.”
The famous friend approaches the bouncer and tells him the situation, to which the bouncer then moves out of the way and lets both of them go in. But I want you to catch something. When the famous friend looked over and said “I got you,” there was instant relief on the face of the other guy.
He knew his famous, influential, and powerful friend would take care of him. Did you know you have an influential and powerful friend too?
God is that friend. And He’s got you. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
I don’t know what you are going through or where you are in life, but I do know that if you are a believer in Jesus Christ, He is your powerful best friend. And HE’S GOT YOU.
