Testimony of Salvation
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” - Ephesians 2:8-9
Yesterday, we talked about being consistent in your relationship with the Lord every day. As believers or followers of Jesus Christ, it is our responsibility to show up every day for Christ. We should be growing in our personal relationship with Him and further pursuing ways that we can advance His Kingdom.
But how do we do that? Yes, we can read the Bible and pray. These are vitally important things when it comes to growing our relationship with God. But what about in the case of others? What can we do to help others grow in their relationship and impact God’s Kingdom?
Well, it starts with your testimony. What is a testimony? A testimony is evidence or proof provided by the existence or appearance of something. Basically, it is our account or story of what Jesus has done for us.
Jesus has died for all of us, we know that. But many nonbelievers want to see how Jesus works in our lives in a way they can relate to. That is where our testimony comes into play. Specifically, our testimony of salvation.
Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
What others can relate to is, like them, we are sinners. We have messed up and do not deserve God’s grace. But because He loves us anyway, He has extended that grace to us and allowed us to share in His Kingdom.
It is not about works, but it is a choice we made. And that choice is something we can share with others, especially those who have never made the same choice!
When you show them things in your life that are similar to theirs, they can relate. That is when you can tell them how it all changed when you give your life to Christ. That, my friend, is a testimony of salvation!
