Thinking Like God

“Yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.” - Proverbs 2:3-5

What would your life look like right now if you could think like God? You could take this question in a number of different directions...but just think about it.

You might say, “I wouldn’t be in the situation I am in if I could have thought like God before...” You might say, “If I could think like God, I would know the solution to my current problem and then I could...” Or you might say, “If I could think like God, I could be more patient because I would know how this is all going to work out.”

Let’s face it. If we thought like God, our lives would all be better. But did you know that we CAN think like God? In fact, the Bible encourages us to do so, Provers 2:3-5 says,

“Yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.”

Finding the knowledge of God is what can keep you from getting into bad situations. It is what can help you solve the current problems you face. And it can give you the patience and peace you need to wait as God works in your life.

The verse says, “search for it as for hidden treasures.” Imagine if someone told you that there are a million dollars hidden somewhere in your house. How urgently would you look for that treasure? How long would you look? How hard would you look? How patient would you be as you searched for it?

That is exactly how God wants you to look for His knowledge. When you read His Word, you start to think like God. And thinking like God is the real treasure because that is the treasure that will make your life better. Search His Word so you can think like Him. You won’t regret it.
