Reveals Your Purpose
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” - Romans 12:2
When you serve others, you not only impact their lives, but the process of serving impacts yours. God uses our service to Him and to others to teach us things about ourselves that we won’t learn any other way.
Yesterday, we looked at how God shows us a new perspective. But He doesn’t stop there. During your service to Him, He will reveal your purpose. God has a purpose for your life. It is unique to you, and He wants you to live it out.
The best version of your life is the one where you are pursuing God’s purpose. When you serve others, God reveals that purpose. He might reveal that the service you are doing is His purpose. Or maybe, through one type of service, He will reveal a different way that you can serve others.
This type of revelation doesn’t just happen. It takes actually getting in the trenches serving God and helping others to find it. Romans 12:2 says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
When God transforms your mind (changes your perspective), He can then show you how to discern what His will is for your life (reveals your purpose).
You will never feel more satisfied and more fulfilled in your life than when you are serving God and living out His ultimate purpose for your life. So many people chase after material things, fame, social clout, and power. They do all of this because they are searching for purpose and fulfillment.
The type of fulfillment they are looking for isn’t found in those things. That is why they are always looking for more and doing more. If you want to feel real fulfillment, allow God to reveal His purpose in your life.
When you serve others, it opens God up to changing your perspective and revealing His purpose for your life.
