Abide in Him
“But the anointing that you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as His anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in Him.” - 1 John 2:27
If you want to fulfill God’s purpose for your life, it is important that you abide in Him. Yesterday, we discussed how, as children of God, we are anointed. This is super cool to think about, the fact that God has chosen us for a special mission only we can fulfill.
But if we aren’t careful, Satan can use that mission against us. How, you ask? At first, He will make us feel TOO SMALL. He’ll convince us to believe the lie that we aren’t “big enough” to live out God’s special purpose for our lives. But he doesn’t stop there.
Once you get over the lie that you are too small, Satan goes in the complete opposite direction. When you begin to have success accomplishing God’s purpose, Satan will tell you you’re TOO BIG. He will try to convince you that you don’t need God, that you are where you are because of your own doing.
Do not fall into this lie. This is why it is so important to abide in God. When you stay in constant communication with God, you do not allow the devil the foothold to get in your ear.
1 John 2:27 says, “But the anointing that you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as His anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in Him.”
As you pursue God’s mission, make sure you abide in Him. Remember, He is the one who gave you the vision, opportunity, and spiritual gifts to accomplish all that you have. Continue to thank Him for blessing you and remain close to Him as you continue to fulfill His purpose.
