Alone With God

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." - Deuteronomy 31:6

There are moments in life when everything feels overwhelming, when you hit rock bottom and don't know what to do next. In those times, it’s natural to reach out to family, friends, or anyone who will listen. We seek comfort in their words, hoping they’ll say exactly what we want to hear, even if it’s not the truth. But turning to others can sometimes lead to distraction rather than real direction. What we really need is to turn to God first.

Here’s the thing: being alone with God is never being truly alone. When you intentionally spend time with Him, just the two of you, something powerful happens. It may feel strange, especially if you’re someone who thrives on social interaction, but in the quietness, God speaks. He brings clarity, peace, and truth in ways no one else can. There are things He wants to teach you that only become clear when you set aside the noise of the world and get alone with Him.

It’s in those private moments that God reveals Himself more fully. Maybe you’ve been running to others for validation, or for someone to tell you that everything’s going to be okay. But God is the one who truly knows what you need.

He’s not going to tell you what you want to hear. He’s going to tell you what’s true and what’s best for you. And in that truth, He’ll remind you that you are never alone, no matter how isolated you may feel. His presence is with you in every moment.

Sometimes the problem isn’t that God is distant, but that we’ve turned to everyone else but Him. We think being alone with God means being lonely, but it’s quite the opposite. In His presence, you are surrounded by love, peace, and guidance that can only come from Him.

If you’re feeling lost or overwhelmed, step away from the world for a moment and let it be just you and God. Allow Him to speak to you, comfort you, and lead you in ways you may not expect.

Remember, no matter how alone you might feel, God is with you always. You don’t need to turn to everyone else to find your way. Get alone with God, because being with Him means you’re never truly alone.
